Daniel Roberge is a Chester, NH artist and portrait painter who paints award winning portraits that stand alone as works of fine art. Portrait viewers often comment that Daniel has captured the essence of the sitter's personality while depicting a stunning likeness of the individual. He realizes that painting heirloom quality oil portraits of people in all of life's stages, ages and positions is a priviledge.
Daniel demonstrates significant expertise and passion for his craft, all the while focusing on eye-catching composition, lighting, and color. His beautiful portraits and stunning personal and wildlife paintings not only convey a remarkable likeness of the subject, but his work fully expresses the spirit and character of the individual while highlighting the artistry required in creating such beautiful, timeless paintings. Daniel's realistic yet painterly style continues the long admirable artistic tradition of portraiture.
Daniel Roberge graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, Illustration & Design from the University of Massachusetts (Lowell) in 1990. He successfully applied his natural drawing skills to the world of commercial art/graphic design/illustration with client projects ranging from catalog product illustration to painting realistically personalizing portraits for the Major League Baseball Players Association’s player-promotion apparel product line - samples shown on the gallery page, among other high-profile sports.
He is influenced and inspired by many of the great masters like Caravaggio, Frans Hals, and Georges de la Tour for their realistic style of painting light and shadows, but also by many contemporaries such as Jacob Collins, Jonathan Linton, Daniel Green, Nelson Shanks, John Howard Sanden, Michael Deas, and many many others for their composition, colors, paint strokes, and overall subject matter.
Daniel gives his undivided attention and focus to each and every portrait commission, convinced that in the end the recipient will treasure this unique gift for a lifetime. He is a member of The Portrait Society of America, American Society of Portrait Artists (ASOP), and the Manchester Artist Association, and is proud to be associated with so many talented, professional artists locally and across the world. "I am constantly inspired by the quality of the paintings I see on the artists online portfolios." says Daniel.
The inception of Dan Roberge Illustrations back in 1990 was the starting point for a lifelong commitment to personal and professional artistic expression. Being the creative person that he is and with his natural background as a visual designer, it was an easy and quite natural progression to also create on the computer and master those technology skills as well. Today, Daniel also runs a successful web business as founder and creator of the Web Design & Development web consultancy RobergeDesign.com, which is tailored to corporate and small businesses searching for a Web presence as well as handling various business-to-business and business-to-consumer communications.
In the end, Daniel's passion is painting and he is committed to his craft.
