Commission Fees and Procedures
Very few people in life are fortunate enough to have a portrait commissioned on their behalf.
A commissioned portrait of a loved one is a unique and thoughtful gift and should be treated seriously with special attention paid to the style and quality of the artist's skills.
Commission Fees:
Full Figure Oil commissions start at $3,000.
Head/Chest Oil commissions start at $1,500.
Head/Chest commissions include the head, shoulders and chest area, approximately 18x24. An example of a higher priced Full Figure commission (24x30 or higher) would be for subject(s) to be seated within an environment, surrounded by objects that have special meaning (flowers, books, chair, personal objects, detailed wedding dress, etc).
Environment objects take additional time to render, but they should be strongly considered because they enhance the overall personality and character of the composition.
Commission Procedure:
Portrait commission appointments are initially arranged via telephone to discuss and determine general portrait qualities, reference materials, estimated completion time, and pricing.
